Welcome to my world of surfboard shaping!
My name is Scotty James, and I am passionate about crafting high-quality surfboards that enhance the stoke and performance of every surfer who rides them. With years of experience and a deep love for the ocean, I pour my heart and soul into creating boards that not only catch waves but also become an extension of the rider's style and personality.

Ever since I can remember, I have been drawn to the ocean and the thrill of riding its powerful waves. Growing up near the coastline, I spent endless hours in the water, constantly observing the movement and energy of the waves. This connection with the ocean fuelled my curiosity to understand the intricate relationship between a surfer and their board, ultimately inspiring me to become a surfboard shaper.

My journey as a shaper began with hanging around under the seasoned craftsman "Carsy", where I started to learn the art and science of board shaping. Over the next few decades I immersed myself in the process, learnt a lot from Sam, studied different board designs, experimented with various materials, and refined my techniques.

Each board I shape is a testament to my dedication to the craft, meticulously handcrafted to meet the unique needs and desires of each surfer.

The essence of my shaping philosophy lies in finding the perfect balance between performance and artistry. I believe that a surfboard is not just a tool for riding waves but also a work of art that showcases the fusion of design, functionality, and individual expression. I take great pride in pushing the boundaries of innovation while staying true to the timeless traditions of the craft.

When you choose one of my boards, you're not just getting a piece of equipment—you're investing in a piece of my passion and expertise. I work closely with surfers of all skill levels, from beginners to professionals, to understand their preferences, style, and goals. This collaboration ensures that each board is tailored to the specific needs of each rider, resulting in a truly personalised surfing experience.

In addition to shaping custom boards, I also offer board repairs, modifications, and restoration services. I understand the sentimental value of a well-loved board and the desire to extend its lifespan. Whether it's a minor ding, a fin replacement, or a complete restoration, I apply the same level of care and attention to detail, ensuring your board gets back in the water in top-notch condition.

My commitment to sustainability is another cornerstone of my surfboard shaping ethos. I strive to minimise my environmental impact by implementing efficient production processes, and supporting initiatives that protect and preserve our oceans.
